About this programme, The Financial Management programme is offered to students who want to enter the world of finance as a career. This course consists of N4, N5 and N6 certificates. After completing the N6 certificate students are required to provide proof to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) of 18 months’ work experience in the relevant industry, in order to qualify for the National N Diploma. The National N Diploma is issued by the DHET if all requirements are met. MINIMUM Admission requirements A National Senior Certificate/Senior Certificate, with Accounting at Grade 12, is a requirement for admission. You may be asked to attend an assessment session. Career Opportunities You are trained to provide close support to Accountants, Auditors, Payroll specialists and other accounting professionals. Duration Each level takes six months full time to complete. A total of 18 months to complete the theoretical components (N4, N5 and N6). Each level consists of four subjects. ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME, The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Boat Builder and Repairer (Boat Builder). Boat Builders build, maintain and/or repair boats and install and maintain marine systems (including amongst others marine electrical and electronic, propulsion and steering and marine plumbing systems) using a variety of materials (including amongst others glass fibre, wood and composites). It also provides an opportunity for individuals to achieve a qualification that enable them to enter in a structured career and learning path, and to allow for the economic growth and development of the South African boatbuilding industry. ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME, A Rigger is someone who uses hoists and pulleys, including lifting, moving and transporting, positioning, pulling and securing of heavy equipment, machines and oversized loads. The Rigger operates a variety of mechanical lifting equipment and supervises the operations of lifting machines to perform lifting operations. ln addition, the Rigger provides access to the work area by means of erecting and dismantling scaffolding that is maintained for use throughout the working period. A Rigger also assembles fall prevention systems as a safe method of access to their working area and performs climbing techniques safely. They work with a variety of fibre and steel wire ropes. Minimum Admission requirements Before registration at the College, it is a requirement that the Apprentice is linked to an employer. A minimum of an NQF Level 1 or Grade 9 with Mathematics and Science is required, but preference is given to students who completed Grade 12. Career Opportunities Riggers can be found in varying industries, everything from manufacturing and oil and gas to the movies. Riggers are also employed by industries such as mining, shipbuilding, construction, power and telecommunication, and hospitals, just to name a few. ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME, A Rigger is someone who uses hoists and pulleys, including lifting, moving and transporting, positioning, pulling and securing of heavy equipment, machines and oversized loads. The Rigger operates a variety of mechanical lifting equipment and supervises the operations of lifting machines to perform lifting operations. ln addition, the Rigger provides access to the work area by means of erecting and dismantling scaffolding that is maintained for use throughout the working period. A Rigger also assembles fall prevention systems as a safe method of access to their working area and performs climbing techniques safely. They work with a variety of fibre and steel wire ropes. Minimum Admission requirements Before registration at the College, it is a requirement that the Apprentice is linked to an employer. A minimum of an NQF Level 1 or Grade 9 with Mathematics and Science is required, but preference is given to students who completed Grade 12. Career Opportunities Riggers can be found in varying industries, everything from manufacturing and oil and gas to the movies. Riggers are also employed by industries such as mining, shipbuilding, construction, power and telecommunication, and hospitals, just to name a few. The load moving rigging industry can be broken down into three general categories: Load Movers, Trucking Companies, and Crane Companies. Duration This is a 3-year full-time programme. Students rotate between time spent at College and in the workplace.
